Day 30 - Describe/Illustrate a major event in the setting’s history
Joseph stands on the front lawn of the newly completed townhouse, feeling his heart swell with pride. It's a human reaction and he can almost hear Alessandro's snarky tone in the back of his head, berating him about his humanity. He doesn't care. It's taken fifty-seven years but he finally, finally has a place to call his own, a place that was built from the ground up.
"Sure you don't want to come back and look at it in the light of day?" the contractor asks as he appears at Joseph's elbow.
The vampire's lips quirk in a half-smile and he shakes his head. "No, I'm unavailable during the day. This is the only free time I have." He returns his attention back to the two-story house. "It's perfect. It's passed all the code inspections and is ready for occupancy?"
"Yep. The building inspector signed off on it this morning." The contractor pulls a key ring out of his pocket and holds them out. "Congratulations, Mr. Cook. You're a proud home owner."
Joseph's smile brightens as he takes the key ring. "Thank you very much."
Once he unlocked the door and stepped inside, he exhaled loudly. "Finally. I've come home."
