LOL, holy crap, and I've always considered myself an extremely casual Trekkie! My uncle was really into TNG, so I watched it with him. I was totally just in it for Wesley; I thought he was so cute, and I kinda lost interest when he left, lolol. Wil Wheaton ftw.

Yeah, the prequel, Enterprise, idk, I watched a bit of it, but I couldn't really get into it. It was too slow-moving, I guess? idk. I love Scott Bakula though.

OMG, the next Star Trek film, soooo can't wait. He has set the standards and expectations so high, lolol. I hope he does it justic.

LOL! Oh, you probably are. Being a Trekkie is relative anyway. *g*

I had so many friends who were mad about Wil Wheaton. I didn't even realize that he left the show. He was such a popular character! I just assumed that he'd be there until the end.

And I love Scott Bakula too! Quantum Leap is still one of my favorite sci-fi shows ever. It's part of my childhood (right there with the original Star Trek *g*). I suspect that if I hadn't lost the channel that aired Enterprise I would've kept watching, but even from the first three episodes I could see what you mean by the pacing. I think it was the concept more than anything that I found intriguing. I wanted to see what Star Fleet was like before they became all PC and sanitized.

Apparently some Trekkies thought he was a Gary Stu? I think they were just jealous because he got to be on the bridge of the Enterprise and they didn't. Whatever. Wil Wheaton seems to have done well for himself despite fan reaction. XD

Oh, no question, the concept of Enterprise was definitely intriguing. My friend captain_elessar is a huge Enterprise fan, and listening to her talk about it, I'm considering renting the discs and giving it another try.

Hmm . . . I think I'm going to have to take back what I said about you and your 'Trekkiness' being all relative. I'm embarrassed to say I don't know who Gary Stu is! LOL. And I'm too lazy to Google it. Bad me! LOL. Care to shed some light on Gary Stu? *g*

I'd like to give Enterprise another go too. I'd probably have to go the illegal route, though, because it's not available locally in my country and importing discs is expensive. That means I have to be 100% certain of something before I order it and Enterprise clearly doesn't fall into that category.

Well, actually, a Gary Stu isn't a Trekkie thing. XD It's the male equivalent of a Mary Sue, which is basically a character who's perfect in every way or usually a self-insert.

Uuuuuuuugh, I hate that importing discs is so expensive. It's so dumb D: blah. And they wonder why piracy is such a big thing.

Hee, hee. Thank you for educating me! I can be so clueless about fandom stuff sometimes. It makes sense too that there would be a male equivalent of Mary Sue. (And what a choice of names - Gary Stu! LOL.) So Wesley was perceived as a Gary Stu? How interesting. I didn't think he was that perfect. *g*

Yeah, importing can be stupidly expensive. Especially since I'm in Asia. Luckily, I don't have problems with regional coding but some of my other friends do. :-(

IKR? I didn't think he was that perfect either, but apparently all the little fanboys were jealous because omg, Wesley's 16 and a genius and serving on the bridge of the flagship of the Federation. Whateverrrrrrrr.

Ugh, importing. :| Yeah, I think regional coding should be abolished too. >:|
