Personality: Kyle is a very complex person, for only being 17. He isn't your typical 18 year old male. He has learned the value of wearing many different masks, of hiding his true emotions and showing a person what they want to see. Whenever he's around his sister and mother, he's much more relaxed and cheerful than when he's around a stranger. Around someone he doesn't know very well, he is cautious and wary and with clients, he plays to their perceptions of him. It takes a lot to gain his trust, but once you do, he is very loyal. Back story: Kyle's the oldest child of Keith and Laura Aspen and he was born on April 1, 1990. His sister Lily is ten years younger than him.
His parents owned a 7-11 convenience store near the heart of Vegas and they ran it very successfully for a number of years. They weren't millionaires but they certainly lived comfortably. Kyle was a happy, bubbly child and he loved his little sister; he always helped take care of her, and he was more than happy to keep her entertained while his parents worked. Their parents made sure that the kids were well-loved and while they didn't necessary have the top of the line toys and designer clothes, they had the important stuff.
Things seemed to be going really well until the year that Kyle turned 14. His father was working a late shift that night, covering for a sick employee, when a masked man attempted to rob the place. Kyle's father was shot and he later died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. Kyle became sullen and withdrawn and his grades started to suffer as he took on a job after school as a grocery store clerk to help his mother pay the bills. She'd ended up selling off the convenience store; there were just too many memories. Most of the money from the sell went toward paying for Kyle's father's medical bills and what was left over went into trust funds set up for Kyle and Lily.
Deciding that his mother needed more help than she was letting on, Kyle started searching for other ways to make more money. Seeing as how they lived in Vegas and prostitutes were on nearly every street corner, Kyle decided that he would try his hand at it. He started soliciting people on the streets, which is how he met Kathleen Carrington. She took him back to her apartment to assess his skill and afterward, she felt that he had potential. She offered to let him work at her casino as a blackjack dealer and on the side, she would make him rich by making him an escort for business men and women who came to stay in her casino and hotel, the Venetian Tears. Kyle lied about his age, telling her that he was 17, when in reality, he was fifteen.
Anything else: Kyle has always been aware of his ability to walk through dreams. As a child, he looked at it as an adventure. Now that he is older and has suffered abuse from some of his kinkier clients, he uses his dream walking as a means of escaping his own dismal existence. He also has a dark blue star tattoo on the inside of his right arm. He got that tattoo at the age of 16 because it is his star and he knows that one day, somehow he is going to shine.
