Day 11 - What kind of people show up in the background in your world?
Breaking character yet again because this is more of a behind the scenes question. Well, I guess the guys could answer it in meta, but I still feel weird writing in meta, so, yeah, breaking character instead.

Um, as for the people that show in the background, I'd say the usual sundry -- employees and customers at Zander's McDonald's, club patrons, nameless victims of Alessandro and Adelaide. There may be a ghost or two showing up to request divine help from Zander. There may be one or two creepy ghosts, if I can pull it off. Horror's never been my strong point because I don't typically watch those kinds of movies or read those kinds of books. I scare very easily, okay? >_> But, yeah, I'm going to try my hand at it. *crosses fingers!* It's a subplot. Maybe. I still have to, you know, plot it out.

Most of the background people are humans, incidentally. I'd say...90%? Yeah.

Day 12 - How does a character comfort themself?
Hellooooo. Joseph again. I should really make Zander answer this one since I fielded the last question, but whatever. He's working, and I'm not, soooo you're stuck with me. Aren't you lucky? :D

How do I comfort myself, you ask? Well, there are a variety of ways, depending on the situation and why I need comfort.

You'd be surprised, actually. Most of my comfort is taken from habits that I've had since I was human. That's just one of the reasons that I irritate Alessandro. I shouldn't be proud of that fact.

Anyway, things that give me comfort: footie pajamas. Don't look at me like that, they're totally for adults too. They're the comfiest, softest article of clothing I own and I love them. I love curling up on the couch in front of the fireplace and reading a book.

That's one of the things I miss about New York in the winter, the cold weather. Man, the snow would cover the city in thick blankets of white and it'd be freezing outside, so you'd bundle up in your flannel pajamas and a blanket and sip hot chocolate.

It doesn't snow in Florida though, and I can't drink hot chocolate anymore anyway. That's one of the downsides of being a vampire -- human food makes us violently ill, like, throwing up ill. We can tolerate some liquids -- alcohol, mostly -- but I don't know, something about hot chocolate; I guess it's the powder, maybe.

I miss real chocolate. And marshmallows. And popcorn. Oh god, and hot dogs. Ohhhhhhhhh, hot and fresh from the Yankee Stadium concession stand, you've never tasted anything so good in your life, and you load it up with relish and onions and it's a flavor explosion in your mouth. The hot dog's juicy and you bite into it and it bursts on your tongue and you're in heaven.

I'd be salivating right now if I weren't dead.

Right, so, other things that bring me comfort include wandering the cemetery at midnight. It's a vampire thing, I think, because I tended to avoid cemeteries when I was alive. They used to, what's the word you guys use? Zander's always saying it when something makes the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. Oh! Creepy! Right, creepy. Yes, cemeteries used to creep me out, but these days, I've noticed I find them more peaceful. They're quiet, serene, especially after midnight. Sometimes when I'm feeling particularly down or I need some alone time and a change of scenery -- looking at the four walls (stylish though they may be) of my basement room can get a bit old sometimes -- I'll just go for a stroll through the cemetery paths.

Ummmmmmmm, I dunno, I guess that's about it. That's all I can think of at the moment anyway.

Day 13 - What kind of foods are popular in the setting?
Well, are we talking about humans or vampires? Because vampires, we're kiiiiiinda limited to one food source -- blood. Sure, we can eat animal blood just as well as we can human, but it's got to be blood if we plan on surviving.

For humans, that's a whole other ball game. For Zander, I know his favorite food is macaroni and cheese, but I don't know if the same can be said about the rest of Orlando. I guess it varies. There is every conceivable kind of restaurant in Orlando. If you want a certain style of food, I guarantee you'll be able to find it.
